Overview
The importing and migrating tools allow you to seamlessly transition your existing short links, custom domains, tags, and affiliate program data into your workspace. Instead of recreating everything manually, you can automatically pull in historical data from external services like Bitly, Short.io, Rebrandly, and Rewardful.
Supported Import Providers
You can import links, tags, and affiliate information from several third-party platforms.
| Provider | Supported Data Types | Import Mechanism |
|---|---|---|
| Bitly | Links, Groups, Tags, Custom Domains | OAuth or API Token / Background Queue |
| Short.io | Links, Tags, Custom Domains | API Token / Background Queue |
| Rebrandly | Links, Tags, Custom Domains | API Token / Background Queue |
| Rewardful | Campaigns, Affiliates, Affiliate Coupons, Customers, Commissions | Automated API Importer |
Importing Links and Domains
1. Open the Import Menu
Navigate to your workspace links page in the dashboard, click the three-dot options menu, and select your source platform under the Import Links section.
2. Connect Your Account
Provide your access credentials for the chosen provider when prompted:
- Bitly: Authenticate securely using the OAuth connection flow.
- Short.io & Rebrandly: Paste your account API key or access token into the input field to connect.
3. Select Domains and Options
Once connected, the system displays a list of available domains and associated link counts found in your external account.
- Toggle the checkboxes next to the domains you want to bring over.
- Choose whether to import your existing tags by enabling the Import all tags? toggle.
- Click Confirm import to queue the migration process.
Note
Large imports run in the background. You can safely navigate away from the page while your data is processed, and you will receive an email notification as soon as the import completes.
Migrating Affiliate Programs and Data
Affiliate Migration Workflow
Key Concepts to Know
- Program Enrollments: When importing partners from external affiliate platforms, the system automatically creates partner profiles and enrolls them into your workspace program.
- Commission Deduplication: During commission imports, the system cross-references existing Stripe customer records and transaction timestamps to prevent duplicate entries if a transaction was already tracked.
- Clawbacks and Adjustments: Complex historical adjustments (such as handling commissions paid out to incorrect partners during a transition period) utilize automated dummy records and clawbacks to balance financial books safely.
