## Overview

Workspaces help you organize your team, manage permissions, and configure default settings for your projects in one central place. Each workspace functions as a collaborative boundary where you can manage team members, set default landing products, update branding, and handle security settings.

## Organizing Team Members and Managing Permissions

### Overview

You can invite teammates to collaborate within your workspace and assign specific roles to control what they can view and modify.

### Workspace Roles

Every team member is assigned a role that determines their level of access.

| Role | Description | Available Plans |
| :--- | :--- | :--- |
| `owner` | Full administrative control over workspace settings, billing, links, and members. | All plans |
| `member` | Can manage links, tags, folders, and campaigns, but cannot modify workspace-level settings or billing. | All plans |
| `viewer` | Read-only access to links, analytics, domains, and API keys. | Business, Advanced, Enterprise |
| `billing` | Can manage billing details and confirm payouts. | Advanced, Enterprise |

> [!NOTE]
> Certain roles require specific workspace plans. For instance, the `viewer` role is available on business plans and above, while the `billing` role is restricted to advanced and enterprise plans.

## Configuring Workspace Defaults and Settings

### Overview

Workspace administrators can customize general workspace properties, branding, and default behaviors from the workspace settings.

### General Settings

* **Workspace Name:** The display name of your workspace (maximum 32 characters).
* **Workspace Slug:** The unique URL identifier for your workspace (maximum 48 characters, lowercase letters, numbers, and dashes only). If you change your workspace slug, you will be automatically redirected to the new URL.
* **Logo:** Upload a custom logo to brand your workspace.
* **Default Product:** Choose which product tab (Dub Links or Dub Partners) opens by default when you access the workspace.

## Tips and Warnings

> [!TIP]
> You can quickly invite teammates by navigating to your workspace settings and using the keyboard shortcut `m` when permitted.

> [!WARNING]
> A workspace cannot have its last remaining owner removed. If you are the sole owner and wish to leave the workspace, you must first transfer ownership to another team member.

> [!IMPORTANT]
> Free workspaces are subject to plan limits. If you reach your free workspace or user limits, you will need to upgrade to a paid plan to add more workspaces or teammates.
