## Overview

### Introduction

The Analytics and Attribution feature allows you to monitor how people interact with your short links, track downstream user conversions (such as signups and paid sales), and evaluate the performance of your marketing campaigns and partner programs. By capturing click events, lead submissions, and revenue metrics in one unified dashboard, you can clearly trace the customer journey from a simple link click all the way to a completed transaction.

### Tracking Clicks and Visits

Every time a user visits one of your short links or pages configured with tracking, the system automatically logs a unique click event.

* **Click ID Generation:** When a user clicks a tracked link, a unique identifier (`clickId`) is generated and securely managed to follow them through your funnel.
* **Metadata Collection:** Along with the click, the system captures rich context including geographic location (continent, country, region, city), device information (browser, operating system, device type), and referrer details.
* **Allowed Hostnames:** To protect your workspace from unauthorized tracking requests, you can specify trusted domains and hostnames in your tracking settings. Requests originating from unverified origins will be blocked.

### Monitoring Conversions and Sales

Conversions connect raw traffic to real business outcomes. You can track two primary conversion milestones:

1. **Leads:** Captures initial user milestones such as user registrations, account signups, or newsletter subscriptions.
2. **Sales:** Captures monetary transactions, recording purchase amounts, currencies, invoice IDs, and payment processors.

You can record conversions using either client-side event tracking or server-side integration webhooks (such as the AppsFlyer postback integration).

> [!NOTE]
> Conversion tracking capabilities require a qualifying workspace plan (such as Business, Advanced, or Enterprise).

### Exporting Reporting Data

When you need to analyze your metrics offline, share reports with stakeholders, or run custom data pipelines, you can export your analytics and attribution data.

To export your attribution reporting data:
1. Navigate to your workspace analytics or partner program dashboard.
2. Select your desired date range, filters (such as specific links, folders, or partners), and granularity.
3. Trigger the analytics export action.
4. Download the resulting export archive file (delivered in ZIP format containing your requested data points).

> [!IMPORTANT]
> Analytics exports respect your workspace permission boundaries. Users must possess appropriate permissions (`analytics.read`) and have access to any filtered folders or resources.

### Key Concepts

Review these core terms to better understand how your data is processed and reported:

| Concept | Definition |
| :--- | :--- |
| **Click ID (`clickId`)** | A unique token assigned to an individual link click that ties subsequent user actions back to the original traffic source. |
| **Lead** | A conversion event representing a prospective customer action, such as a sign-up or registration. |
| **Sale** | A conversion event representing a completed financial transaction, including value, currency, and invoice reference. |
| **Timeseries** | An analytics view that breaks down your metrics (clicks, leads, sales, revenue) across chronological intervals (hours, days, months). |
| **Attribution** | The method of assigning credit for leads and sales back to the specific links, partners, campaigns, or referrers that drove them. |

---

### Tips and Warnings

> [!TIP]
> Always verify that your website's domain is correctly added to your workspace's allowed hostnames list under your tracking settings to ensure client-side conversion events are accepted successfully.

> [!WARNING]
> If a user clears their browser cookies or switches devices between clicking your link and completing a purchase, direct attribution may be disrupted unless alternative customer identification methods (such as external user IDs) are tied to the conversion event.
